University for all
Inclusiveness and diversity are among our cherished values and the University has a good record of welcoming students from a wide range of social, ethnic and other backgrounds. Our healthcare related areas, in particular, have been recognised as part of the "access elite" of British universities for successfully combining widening access with low drop out rates and excellence in both teaching and research.
Although our academic community is a diverse one, a unifying factor is the potential and determination to succeed and benefit from what Cardiff has to offer. These pages introduce the people and the projects which are making the Cardiff University experience available to an even greater mix of people.
The Cardiff Quartet
The three institutions of higher education in Cardiff collaborate with the City and County of Cardiff as "The Cardiff Quartet", a group which actively promotes the comprehensive range of higher education provision which has established Cardiff as a Capital City of Learning.
Among the many collaborative ventures, the Quartet manages a Mobile Exhibition Unit which visits schools and other locations in the city and further afield, and particularly those without a strong tradition of participation in higher education, to highlight the opportunities available.
