Augustine On True Religion
Introduction
Augustine’s work ‘On True Religion’ plays a key role in the history of monotheism. It is influenced by ancient philosophical monotheism and Manichaean dualism. It rejects polytheism and Judaism for their alleged lack of philosophical grounding, but it also shows up ways of intellectual engagement between different religions and worldviews.
