Nuclear Power and Climate Change
Speaker: Prof Nick Pigeon
Starts: 14:30 - 14 February 2007
Prof Nick Pigeon, School of Psychology, will be giving a presentation entitled "Nuclear Power and Climate Change: Perceived Risks, Public Acceptability and UK Energy Policy" on Wednesday 14th February, 2:30pm in the Main Lecture Theatre, School of Engineering. The talk is one of a series of seminars and presentations being run by ENGIN’s Cross Energy Group in order to disseminate research interests across the School.
The 50 minute presentation will discuss the implications on future energy policy based on results obtained from a major British survey undertaken in autumn 2005. The survey questioned the British Public about their attitude towards nuclear power as a solution to climate change and the result was that although the majority of people would accept Nuclear power, very few preferred it to renewable resources.
A copy of the flier is available from the resources section opposite.
