Disposal of obsolete fridges and freezers

All university departments, sections or units should be aware that under new EEC regulations (Feb 2002), the collection, treatment and safe disposal of all domestic/laboratory fridge/freezers must be carried out by recognised contractors in accordance with current regulations and good practice.

To request disposal of a fridge/freezer please telephone the Hotline on Ext. 74477 quoting the appropriate budget code. A disposal request form can be found here and this should also be completed and sent to David Shepherd, Cleaning Services Officer in Estates.
