PhD Research
American Foreign Policy Towards Iran 1971-79.
My PhD tracks the evolving American approach towards Iran after the withdrawal of the British from the Persian Gulf in 1971, until the Islamic Revolution in 1979 and the subsequent 'loss of Iran'. My work is based primarily on declassified documents from the Nixon, Ford and Carter administrations. My Research interests outside of my PhD are primarily focused on contemporary American foreign policy, The role of The EU as a global actor, and on international relations in general.
