Wales Governance Centre

The Wales Governance Centre was inaugurated in February 1999 to act as a centre for scholarly research on legal and political matters relating to the National Assembly for Wales, most notably the political, legal and public policy significance of the Government of Wales Act 2006. The Centre brings together academics from Cardiff University’s School of European Studies, Law School and Business School. In addition, the Centre has developed links with academics from both within and outside Cardiff University working in a wide range of social science disciplines.
Linked to the WGC are the European Governance, Identity and Public Policy research unit of the School of European Studies and Wales Legislation Online – a key research tool for academics and practitioners alike - housed in the Cardiff Law School.
Events
The WGC is engaged in hosting a range of events discussing aspects of Welsh governance. These include the annual St David's Day lectures, seminars and conferences.
