Our projects include working with children and young people with a disability, working in a homeless drop in centre, helping people with mental health problems, and working with adults with learning disabilities in a community garden.

Student Development Unit; The Student Development Unit offers students the opportunity to develop their “soft” and personal skills through a curriculum based around a Certificate in Professional Development including modules on communication, personal effectiveness and leadership.

Student Societies; Here at Cardiff, we have over 120 societies affiliated to the Students' Union and the Society community offers over 7,000 students a lively and vibrant experience throughout their studies, whether they be an Undergraduate, Postgraduate, UK or International Student. Our individual Societies offer a very diverse range of events, activities and interests.  Societies range from Amnesty International to Y Gymdeithas Cymraeg (Welsh Society) and everything else in between.

Student Union Societies sponsorship allows organisations to reach a wide range of the Cardiff student community and gain brand awareness across the Cardiff University network including advertising in the student newspaper, Gair Rhydd, web presence on cardiffstudents.com, as well as the Societies Awards 2008 event.  We also offer on-site commercial activity in the Union to sponsors.

Athletic Union

Cardiff University v. Swansea University Annual Varsity Match;

The annual Cardiff University v. Swansea University Varsity Rugby Challenge is the second largest of its type in the UK after the Oxford and Cambridge Varsity match at Twickenham and is played before an enthusiastic crowd not only of students, alumni and supporters of both Universities, but also engaging a large corporate audience.

Cardiff and Swansea University Athletic Unions on an annual basis seek a title sponsor for one of the most prestigious events in the Welsh rugby calendar.  We are anticipating that the event will be grow year on year to rival some of the professional games in the Welsh rugby calendar.

Overall Athletic Union sponsorship; with over 5,000 members the Athletic Union has 65 affiliated sports clubs.  Sport is an integral part of University life and through overall sponsorship of the AU organisations will be able to maintain a consistent presence across campus, reaching not only the Cardiff University student community, but also gain brand recognition across the UK university network.

Individual Athletic Union club sponsorship including; Rugby, Football, Hockey, Netball, Cricket, Rowing, Squash, Tennis, Badminton, Sailing and Lacrosse.  These are the University’s priority sports where teams compete at the highest level in student sport.  In order to maintain this level of achievement teams require support for coaching, kit, travel expenses

Recent partnerships and funding have included the following:

125th Anniversary Varsity Rugby

The Co-operative Bank are the sponsors the 2008 Varsity Match in the 125th Anniversary year of Cardiff University, the event will take place at Cardiff Arms Park on Wednesday 23rd April 2008.  The University and the Athletic Union are very grateful for their support
