When should I arrive in the UK?

September starters should arrive on Wednesday 17 or Thursday 18 September to take advantage of the free airport pick-up service from Heathrow and Cardiff Airports.

If you are starting at a difference time of the year, you should check with your school for when you should arrive in Cardiff.

What should I do when I arrive?

If you have applied for and booked University Accommodation, you will be able to move into your room in University Residences on Wednesday 17 September.

Staying in private accommodation?

If you're hoping to stay in private accommodation, we recommend that you arrive a few days before Wednesday 17 September and book temporary hotel accommodation to stay in for a few days whilst you look for private accommodation. Staff will be available to help you find private accommodation at the welcome talks. For more information, visit the induction page

If you have already booked your private accommodation, you will need to arrange to pick up your keys from your landlord in Cardiff. In that case, you should go directly to your accommodation.

Unexpected late arrivals

If you arrive unexpectedly late in the evening or early in the morning and you have not been able to inform Residences of your late arrival, you should go directly to the Security Office next to the Psychology Tower opposite 51 Park Place.

The Security Office will then arrange for you to be let into your University accommodation.
