I am arriving before Monday 16 September - where can I register with the police?

You can book an online appointment to register with the Police on Wednesday 4, 11 or 18 September in Deri House, 2 – 4 Park Grove, Cardiff University (campus ref. 60). To find Deri House see this Google map.

The online booking form can be found by clicking here.

As long as you make an appointment within 7 days of your arrival, you will not be in breach of the immigration rules and the conditions of your entry into the UK on your visa.

If there are no appointments left for Wednesday 4, 11 or 18 September, then you can make an appointment online for the week long police registration service – Monday 23 – Friday 27 September. To find out how to make an online appointment, please visit this page.

What documents do I need to prepare and bring with me?

To register with the police for the first time you will need:

  • your passport
  • two passport-sized photographs
  • proof that you are a student: paper copy of your Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) email sent by the University or your student ID card.
  • registration fee of £34 (if you are a student sponsored by the British Council you will have this fee-refunded)
  • a completed police registration questionnaire, provided for you by Cardiff University, see below:
  • Police Registration Questionnaire
  • Police registration Questionnaire Guidance Notes

Please come to your appointment with all the above items. If you don’t have all the documents the police cannot issue a Registration certificate.
