If you told us that you would like to live in University accommodation AND you have an unconditional offer for the English for University Study Programme, you will have received an email from us which tells you how to apply for a place in university residences. Accommodation for English for University Study Programme students will be in the Talybont South residence.
English for University Study Programme students apply for accommodation in a different way to other students. You must follow the instructions in the How to apply for Residences May 2014 EfUS Residences Application document.
If you have any problems completing the form online, or have any other questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for help.
Using your computer in University residences
RESLAN is the University’s computer network in halls of residence. To check whether your computer meets the minimum security requirements for use on the University network, please access the Internet with the machine you are bringing with you and click on the link below (note - do this again just before you leave home, to make sure nothing has changed): http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/insrv/it/network/reslan/index.html
If your computer fails the test please make sure you rectify any issues before trying to connect to RESLAN, remember it's YOUR responsibility to make sure your machine has anti-virus software installed, is virus-free and is set to receive automatic security updates.
If you are going to live in University residences, please visit our page on how to connect to the internet from your room: http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/insrv/it/network/reslan/connecting.html
If you wish to live in private accommodation, please make sure you arrive in Cardiff early to allow yourself enough time to look for and move into a suitable flat or house. You will find it very difficult to do this once the course has started. If you would like any further information regarding private accommodation please email email@example.com.
