How to apply

If you wish to come and study at Cardiff as an Erasmus+ student, there must be an Inter-Institutional Agreement between Cardiff University and your home institution. These are agreed by each academic School.

Since the Agreements are susceptible to change on a yearly basis it is advisable to check with the Erasmus+ co-ordinator at your university to make sure that there is an Agreement between your university and Cardiff. They will then be able to advise you on how to proceed and process your application.

Application Process

  1. Please check with the Erasmus+ Office at your home University that there is a valid Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement with Cardiff University, in the subject you are studying.
  2. Ask the Erasmus+ Office at your home University to send us a nomination by email.*
  3. The Erasmus+ Coordinator in your Academic School at Cardiff University will send you a link via email to the on-line application form. You must complete the on-line application form prior to the start of your placement.
  4. Once you have submitted your on-line application form, your Academic school at Cardiff University will send you an offer to study at Cardiff University via email.
  5. Once you have accepted your offer, you will be emailed further information about your application, including your student number, online enrolment and information about selecting modules.

* If you are applying to the School of Planning and Geography there is an additional application process. Please contact erasmus@cardiff.ac.uk for more information.

If an Agreement does not exist and your University does not wish to create one, then it is possible to study at Cardiff as an Occasional Student. This means that you will be liable to pay fees but, if accepted, will have the same module choices as British students.

For more information about this method of study, please see e-mail admissions@cardiff.ac.uk
