Cardiff's postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Masters in Journalism training is intensive, vocational and designed to prepare you for a successful UK media career.
Postgraduate journalism training was established in 1970 at Cardiff and has since gained a reputation as one of the premier Broadcast, Magazine and Newspaper journalism training schools in the UK.
Its reputation is built upon an ability ensure the teaching is relevant to a rapidly changing industry as well as a dedication to provide the most realistic training environment possible.
Diploma and Masters
The Cardiff Postgraduate training can be studied as a nine month Diploma in Journalism or one year Masters Degree in Journalism. The Masters requires students to complete a practice based project, in addition to the Diploma syllabus.
An award winning course
Cardiff students benefit from a course that is widely recognised within the journalism industry and continues to meet the standards set by the three media industry accrediting bodies – the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC), National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and Periodicals Training Council (PTC).
The Magazine option won ‘New Digital Product Concept Award’ at the PTC Magazine Academy Awards 2010 while the Newspaper option won the NCTJ award for ‘Top performing postgraduate course’.
