The future of marketing

12 Medi 2007

A Cardiff University expert and former adviser to David Beckham will offer practical and innovative tips for business brand communications at a University Innovation Network event (12 September).

Elliot Pill, director of the MA in International Public Relations at the School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies and Board Director within WWP Group, the largest public relations consultancy in the world, will discuss ‘Brand communication for the internet age’.

Elliot has developed and delivered communications campaigns for a wide range of businesses from internationally recognised retail brands such as Adidas, Reebok, Coca-Cola, Motorola, Pioneer and Billabong, through to smaller companies.

He will share his extensive experience of tried and tested strategies as well as demonstrating how business-customer relationship can be improved and redefined through the use of non-traditional methods and new media technologies.

Since its creation in 1996 the University’s Innovation Network scheme, organised by the Research and Commercial Division, has hosted almost 8,000 people at its events run for local businesses and innovators.

Described as "an excellent example of how the academic world can take a pro-active approach to developing effective links with industry," by the Welsh Assembly Government any company, enterprise or public body, large or small, can get involved.

The event starts at 6.30pm at Cardiff University’s Main Building, Park Place, Cardiff, CF10 3QN with registration from 6.00pm.
