Stronger together?

12 Hydref 2010

stronger together

Businesses in Wales looking to work more closely with the higher education sector will have an opportunity to have their say on business and university collaboration at a special Question Time style debate on Wednesday 13th October.

Organised by Cardiff University Innovation Network, this event will see a panel of local experts including David Rosser, Director of CBI Wales and Paul Orders, Cardiff Council’s Corporate Director for the Built Environment, debate ways in which businesses and academics can work more closely together.

The debate will allow businesses to find out how they can benefit from better collaborative working relationships with universities, as well as understanding the challenges of doing so. It will also cover how universities can better engage with research challenges of relevance to businesses, particularly in the current economic climate.

This event is free and open to all and will take place at Bute Building, King Edward VII Avenue. Anyone interested in attending the 'Stronger together?' debate can register online.

Panellists will answer questions pre-submitted by delegates when they register to attend. Other panellists include Professor Kevin Morgan, Cardiff School of City and Regional Planning and Dr Grahame Guilford, South East Wales Economic Forum

The event is organised in association with Wales Business Insider and will be chaired by the publication’s editor, Douglas Friedli. It will be hosted by Professor Hywel Thomas, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor for Engagement & International.
