The Students’ Union is central to life as a student in any university. Cardiff University’s Union is located on the Cathays Park campus. It caters for all areas of student life, from handling issues in its fully staffed Student Advice Centre, to offering thousands of employment, professional development and work experience opportunities.
The Students Union is a purpose-built centre of activity for Cardiff students and its facilities include food outlets, shops, bookshop, games room, banking and insurance services, letting agency, nightclub, bar and great hall.
Cardiff University’s Students’ Union offers an extensive range of sporting opportunities for everyone. There are numerous sports clubs ranging from badminton to hockey, hang gliding to rowing and karate to windsurfing. There are also clubs which students can join which are cultural, political, religious or social.
The Students’ Union runs a student employment service called UNISTAFF Jobshop which provides casual work opportunities within the University itself, allowing students to undertake paid work for up to 15 hours a week.
