Research Interests

I have worked in the field of the Sociology of Health and Illness for twenty years. During that time my work has ranged from micro- sociological studies of the experience of health and illness, through cultural analysis of disability, to macro-sociological research on health policy and social inequalities in health. I am now developing with colleagues new work looking at the relationships between economic regeneration, community development and sustainable health, with particular reference to post-industrial South Wales.
