Bursary & Dependency allowance rates
UK residents undertaking a three year undergraduate nursing or midwifery programme in Wales do not have to pay tuition fees for their education. Students are awarded a non means-tested bursary throughout the three year programme. Additional payments may be made for those students with dependents. Effective from 1st September 2009
Personal Bursary (non-means tested) = £6,701 per academic year.
Please note that bursaries may vary slightly each year.
To qualify for this financial support applicants must comply with the following:
- Have been resident in the UK throughout the 3 years preceding the first day of the academic year of the course, other than for the purpose of receiving full time education.
- Have settled status in the UK within the meaning of the Immigration Act 1971, on the first academic year of the course.
- Be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the first academic year of the course.
