RCN Margaret Parkinson Scholarships

Applications for the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Margaret Parkinson Scholarships are invited from Graduates with a non-nursing degree who plan to become nursing students in 2008.

All graduates with non-nursing degrees who are domiciled in the UK and have not yet started their nursing course are eligible to apply. Students in their final year of non-nursing degree courses are also eligible.

The amount of the awards will generally be between £500 and £1000 per annum for up to three years. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate satisfactory achievements in their course of study for the award to be renewed each year.

Ideally candidates will be aged 24 or over, will be able to demonstrate academic and personal achievement or career/employment history, and need assistance in order to pursue their chosen course of study. One or more awards may be made in any one year.

All applicants will need to complete the appropriate application form which can be downloaded during November, December and January by visiting http://www.rcn.org.uk/. Please click on ‘Membership’ in the blue area, then click on Scholarships and awards, then Funding for members and look for Margaret Parkinson Scholarship Awards for Pre-Registration Graduates. Forms can also be obtained by emailing scholarships@rcn.org.uk and quoting reference 001-343.

Closing date

Completed application forms will need to be posted and must be received by the RCN by 12 noon on 1st February 2008. No applications are permitted after this date.
