Event: Cardiff University Lacrosse Club Double World Record Attempt

23 April 2009

On Saturday 25th April 2009 from 8am-8pm, at the University Sports Fields – Llanrumney, members of Cardiff University Lacrosse Club will attempt to break the world records for both the longest male and longest female continuous lacrosse matches. The current Men’s and Ladies teams will take on members of the Lacrosse Club alumni in an effort to break the current lacrosse marathon record of 8 hours and 16 minutes.

As well as promoting Cardiff University and the sport of Lacrosse itself the event is hoping to raise more than £25,000 for Right To Play (UK). Right To Play is an athlete-driven international humanitarian organisation that uses sport and play as a tool for development of children and youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world. Its programmes aim to improve the lives of children affected by poverty, war and disease.

Sport & Exercise would like to congratulate the Lacrosse Club for their efforts in raising money for such a worth while cause and also wish them the best of luck for the record attempt itself.
